First of all, I'm not one to have one bad experience and then trash the place, so this review consists of more than one visit. Went there last night for dinner and I'm done. Never again. Ever. Asked for our soup before dinner, and we got it with our dinner. We were told, they had ran out is why and it took so long. Suggestion: When you go in the fridge and get some soup to microwave and bring to customers, stir it. Seriously, STIR IT UP !. I don't get here enough. What's not to like about it? Clean, great food, nice staff, and that local hometown feeling. I had the fried chicken with red mashed potatoes - awesome! And the serving size is HUGE - easily brought home half of the meal for next day's lunch.

So loud you can’t carry on a conversation. Service is excellent and the food is good but hard to enjoy it when the place is so loud. Other locations are a better choice if you have a favorite on the menu you just have to have.

We know that during peak times, it can get a bit noisy in the diner, so many of our locations (including this one) have a smaller dinning area for our guests who are looking for a quieter meal. Was sat at a table at 7:45 last night. Waited patiently for a server to come to our table for over 10 minutes. Several servers walked by my wife and myself and literally ignored us. Metro closes at 8 pm and although the restaurant was stil busy it was apparent that none of the servers wanted to take on a table that close to closing. RecommendedGreat food. The taste was amazing and so much food for a low price. The service was excellant too.
We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating my husband’s birthday by eating out at the Metro Diner on San Jose Blvd. Our server, Frankie, was very attentive and helpful. She didn’t mind when one of our party changed her order at the last minute. Frankie graciously accommodated our needs. We will be back!
We keep going there thinking it’s going to be better than it really is, it’s only OK. Larry thinks the only reason to go there is for breakfast, and he may be right. But I am not a big out for breakfast kind of person. I had their chicken and it came out lukewarm. Larry had their fish and chips, and it was boring.
