Housed in a century old building that's a prominent historical landmark in Renton, Melrose Grill has gone through a number of incarnations ranging from a hotel cafe and saloon to a soda parlor in the course of its rich history. A fire in 1928 and numerous change of ownerships later, the Melrose can finally be said to be back to its former glory, winning rave accolades and a slew of awards with statewide acclaim. The interiors, though updated to modern standards makes no effort to let go of its past with blown up historic pho... read more

Mouth Watering – Great place to visit with a warm cozy arts & crafts atmosphere in downtown Renton. They have the best steaks around, savory & tender. Great for small groups or pairs enjoying a special occastion. The bar is also well stocked, try the Derailer.
Re: Keep it a secret! – Can't say enough good things about the Melrose Grill. The steaks are definitely on par with the best in the metropolitan Seattle area and at a far more reasonable price. Service has always been very quick and attentive. It's best to get in before 6 pm or expect the usual waiting time which is heavier on Friday & Saturday nights. Very nice beer selection on tap. Personally, location is outstanding because it's away from the usual thoroughfare going down 3rd St or Main Ave S. and it's close to home. Sim... read more
User review by trtb – We have been to the Melrose Grill several times and have never been disappointed. The service and evening specials have always been superb. We like to go in the early evening on Sunday's because the dinner rush hasn't begun. It is also great because when you want a great meal after a long day of working in te yard you can through on a pair of shorts and you are just as welcome as when you arrive in a suit. I highly recommend this restaurant. Try the Rack of Lamb or the Garlic Shrimp, you won't be disapp... read more
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – This historic building in Renton built in 1901 now is a steakhouse offering prime cuts and reasonable prices.
User review by bonniemcn – Great steaks or any of their specials are greatly recommended.
Best little steakhouse in King County – If you are looking for a great downtown style steak with out traveling downtown to Daniels Broiler the Metropolitan Grill (or even worse one of those chain places like Mortons, or Ruths Chris), and want a complete meal including salad, potato and vegetable (thats right the Melrose is not ala carte) for around $30 than you are heading to the right place. The martini's are hand crafted and shaken well. Ribeye and Rack of lamb are great~ Daniel
Absolutely incredible steaks!!!! – With steaks easily as good as and better than Daniel's and the Metropolitan grill at a fraction of the price, this is one of my favorite restaurants around. While everything on the menu is delicious, the filet mignon and New York are superb. I have recommended the Melrose Grill to coworkers and friends, and they have now all become regulars, one even frequently making the trek down from Everett. This is defintely one of the best-kept secrets of the Seattle-metro area!
