Meijer, I am SO over you. You’ve discontinued at least a dozen things I purchase on a regular basis over the past several years. But expired food is unacceptable. Unfortunately, it’s not nearly the first time I’ve purchased expired food items from you. Ordered my daughter's birthday cake from the bakery along with two dozen cupcakes. The only thing they got right was the design of the cake and matched the icing on the cupcakes. I ordered a chocolate cake, a dozen white cupcakes and a dozen chocolate. All the cupcakes along with the cake was all white no chocolate. I had my husband pick it up so I had no clue they messed the whole order up until right before the party started. Great place to work. I transferred there yesterday!
I’ve been a loyal customer since your doors opened. I’ve overlooked many things over the years (expired items, unstocked shelves, rude employees, etc.) but making almost all of the self checkout lanes “20 items or less” was the worst thing you could’ve done. It’d be different if you had more than 2 lanes open but that rarely happens. Being scolded and told that the lane was for 20 items or less when I had 19 was really not appreciated today. (Especially when I was the only person using any of the machines at that time.) God ... read more
The elimination of the unlimited self checkout is a mistake. If you have more than 20 items you’re pretty much guaranteed to have to wait in a line that’s 2 or 3 deep and with people that have heaping full carts. I used to be able to get in and out relatively quickly but now there isn’t really an option if you need more than 20 things �. I’ve really liked Meijer until now.
