Delectible and delightful – When I scan the daily menu online before I head over to get take-out for lunch, my mouth inevitably starts watering. I'm actually beginning to learn what sorts of cuisine come from the many different parts of India thanks to their detailed menu that changes daily. I also enjoy the kind people that are always there, and the food never disappoints. Great for the price too.
Best local lunchtime value for great Indian food – If you're close to 2nd and Folsom on a weekday at lunchtime, this restaurant is the best place nearby for an excellent lunch. Excellent sit-down meals or great, inexpensive takeout offersing that change daily, all of them around $4.50 to $6.50 or so.
Consistently delicious – For lunch in particular, this place can't be beat. It's the fastest lunch in town, for one thing, and the rotating menu of curries is delicious every day -- plus, it's under $6 for a big bowl of curry and rice ($7.10 with naan). Little known secret: you can mix two of the curry specials in the same bowl for the same price. Love it!
lil' piece o heaven in your work day – my whole single-company building are addicted to mehfil - they have great food & are really nice the best part is take-away lunch - go in, walk down the line, look at the 5 daily specials (including a kick-ass tandoori chicken salad), tell the cashier what you want, hand him about 5 bucks & walk away happy their daily specials have variety, great flavor & are big enough to keep you even if you wind up stuck at work until late
Exceptional SF Indian – It's amazing that anything as conveinent and cheap as the "curry in a hurry" lunch specials could be so good. Mehfil stands above most Indian restaurants for the breadth of its menu; instead of the same old masalas and paneers you'll find everything from Himalayan to Sri Lankan dishes, even beef(!) The food is outstanding and nobody I've sent here has been disappointed.
My daily treat... – With a lunch menu that changes daily, and the ability to order their almost Famous Tiki Masala anytime you want, no Indian place I've been to beats this place.
Cheap, quick, tasty lunches – I work nearby, and I go here any time I'm craving some curry and rice dish at lunchtime (which is pretty often) and they've always got something I want on the quick lunch menu which is $4-5.50 and is most definitely enough for me, and I've got a larger than normal appetite. And I never end up with just rice and no more curry because they fill those containers up pretty good. Excellent food plus they deliver! – Nothing beats going to Mehfil for dinner...the naans are so hot and melt in your mouth, and the other dishes are incredible. If you are not in the mood to make it in to their place, the best part is that they deliver for free! The food is just as good and the naans are still excellent. To make things even easier, they have an online ordering system which makes ordering food painless and super quick. Excellent Food and Service – I and my wife stay in Dublin, which is in the East Bay and i work in SF area and had visited this restuarant during working lunches and was very impressed with the quality and service. I find the food here so fresh that i and my wife travel all the way from dublin atleast twice every month. the food is great, made fresh and the Naans(Bread) is simply wonderful. specially the garlic nan. during lunch time the menu is changed every day.
