I had my Moderna #1 and #2 given there at your clinic, but tried for the third booster(immunosuppressed) this time could get no information from the six different people in six departments that I talked to at UAB West over a two day period. Develop a process for communication with families during the COVID19....this has been going on since March, it is unfathomable that you don't have a better process or any process whatsoever. Families are struggling to get updates on their family members. Elderly patients become somewhat disoriented by pain medication and just from being hospitalized, and I still have to search and call multiple people to get updates. I loved using Dr. Gill but the staff in here office are very rude and one decided she was going to refuse to give me my paper work back and even laughed as she dis it. Her name was Melissa she was rude on the phone and then argued with me about who was an actual dr and who wasn't so because of some of the staff i will not be back

I would not recommend this emergency room. I came with someone from the freestanding er in hoover and was told multiple times that visitors were allowed. I got to the hospital and of course no visitors allowed, which is fine, but I wish someone would have informed me correctly. I asked the lady at the er and she was extremely rude saying no visitors and there was a security officer standing there telling her that she received an email saying that a person for moral support was able to be there with the patient, and meanwhile... read more

My father and his wife were transported. His wife died upon arrival. We have been inquiring now over 24 hrs to get answers about our fathers care and have been greeted with circles and uncertainty. We can’t see him or talk to him. We tried asking questions and my sister was escorted off the property by the request of Tongela. The question asked was if there is an attending provider who could answer our questions? While grieving the loss of one parent we are in limbo with the second and have no answer. Dr Curtis(Ortho) and 95 percent of the nurses especially Freddie on the 3rd floor...Emmanuel the Transport goes above and beyond HOWEVER the people I had the last two days of my visit on the fourth floor need some work..I don’t know what the problem is, but it exists...the last two days of my visit I can only compare to being in solitary confinement in a prison...

love this hospital it's my favorite hospital all the nurses and doctors are so nice and the obgyns are to and I had a good delivery at this hospital they all took good care of me and the baby and my husband I really do reccomend UAB Medical West only this one in Bessemer Alabama it's such a great place 5 stars😇

I was at Medical West for nine days with pneumonia. Every single person was wonderful and very caring. It was a very scary experience and they made it so much easier.
