The Mecca is Raleigh's most historic eatery, serving the downtown Raleigh area since the Great Depression. The Mecca is not trendy. We are a mom-and-pop store that specializes in the kind of comfort food that evokes a simpler time.

Perfect food, atmosphere and service. Every time.
I had lunch there at 1:30 on Wed. Ordered a hamburger, cheeseburger came in its place-no big deal. I got a ring of onion along with my lettuce leaf and some tomato, when I asked for more onion, I got another ring. French fries were cold and my ice tea was never refilled. Not overly impressed, reputation did not meet reality for me.
BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN THE STATE but like, that's just my opinion man.
UNC channel featured The Mecca Saturday morning. I had to go to Raleigh and check it out. Awesome food but portion size not large enough for such good food. Great old time feel. Will definitely go back
I had been there before the food was good and this it was good too they just a small pace and can't fit that many people at a time.
Very nice atmosphere.. Great food and friendly staff.
Not the best. The grits were horrible. The only thing I like is the steak.
Family! And the best fried chicken in downtown!!!
