I called in to make an appointment with an endocrinologist. I was then informed that my referral was denied, and was transferred to a triage nurse for further explanation as to why she had denied it. She was consistently condescending and dismissive, and at multiple points was unprofessional in how she communicated. She repeatedly stressed that she is “NOT a doctor,” yet still proceeded to diagnose my symptoms and tell me that the issue is not my thyroid, from the minimal information she had in front of her. Extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Massiell German. From the start, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. I clearly explained that my previous doctor, Dr. AL-Rayess, had already tried lowering my thyroid dosage and that it made me extremely fatigued. Even Dr. Scheuller, who referred me here, agreed that with my active lifestyle, being slightly above the standard reference range is reasonable for me.
