I have been seeing Dr. McCollum for 27 years. His wealth of knowledge and ability to apply it to specific situations has made it possible for me to be a counselor today. He is thorough, empathetic, and adheres strictly to the ethical guidelines of psychiatry. When my parents needed assistance - my father for Alzheimer's Disease and my mother for depression subsequent to a stroke I took them to to see him. I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Arkansas, a Licensed Professional Counselor ... read more
Very helpful. His background as an MD brings great insight to his psychiatric practice. Stays current with cutting edge studies and treatments. Treats the whole patient, as a person.
Dr. McCollum has treated three members of my family for over twelve years for a variety of issues including, but not limited to, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, anxiety and depression. He is professional, thorough and compassionate. I always recommend him to anyone seeking psychiatric care.
Dr McCollum has a warm and upbeat personality which puts me at ease. He is quick to grasp what I'm trying to convey and has an excellent memory of our past conversations. His staff is careful to protect my privacy and appointments are staggered to maintain annonimity.
Dr. McCollum has been very knowledgeable. I have been seeing him intermittently for several years and he has helped me a great deal.
He doesn't listen to your needs, is condescending, offensive, and rude. He overprescribes and then tries to take it back later when he realizes what he has done. He has lied to my face. I used to love him, now I do not trust him and wouldn't recommend him to anyone. Plus he doesn't take insurance. Um....rip off.
Dr. McCollum was a breath of fresh air when I found him for help. Not only is he a psychiatrist who spends quality time with patients that is often rare in this field anymore, he is patient, compassionate and highly trustworthy. He diagnosed conditions I was misdiagnosed with that ultimately saved my life. He exceeds above & beyond expectations and sacrifices himself and his family for the well-being of his patients. He is highly intelligent, professional & current on medicines and treatments.
Dr. McCollum is an excellent doctor. I have seen many psychiatrists in a quest for psychiatric wellness and he is the only one who has truly helped. He is informed, professional, empathetic, and kind. Finding a combination of medications that work for me has been a arduous process, but Dr. McCollum has continually worked to find a regimen that works. Any advice dispensed to me has been thoughtful, constructive, and appropriate. Also, his staff is awesome!
Should not be allowed to practice medicine of any form.
