Purchased a new Miata from Mazda of Knoxville yesterday afternoon. I live in another state and 5 1/2 hours away from the dealership. Began having issues with the car on the drive home. Could not get into 1st, 2nd or reverse gears without lots of work on my part. Every stop sign or traffic light was a nightmare. It was late at night and I was afraid I would be totally unable to get the car through any stops and would be stranded somewhere along the road. Had an issue with my extended warranty where they told me initially it would cover windshield replacement (which it doesnt; only repair under 6"). When I went to exercise the warranty, they wouldnt honor it. So I tried to cancel the warranty, and the sales manager told me I couldnt do it. Well I called Scott Mooney at the finance department and he handled it. Very professional of him. Thanks Scott!
Long post but I hope people shopping for a car take the time to read this review, my first ever. After two excruciatingly unsuccessful trips to two different Toyota dealers in Knoxville, just to look inside a Grand Highlander to gauge whether it had enough room for our family, I left both after the poor experiences. Sales staff and the arrogance was a joke. I vowed then and there I will never own a Toyota,at least bought locally.
