My 7 year old has had many medical issues in the last few years and because of that is afraid of doctors and medicine. I brought my son to the Port Colborne ER because he had bleeding in his eyes. Dr. Luterman needed to prescribe him eye drops and when my son heard that he started crying. Dr. Luterman looked at him and said "if you're going to be like that I'll give you a needle". This man is absolutey the rudest Doctor I have ever met. My 9 month old son was very sick with the flu and very dehydrated he kept saying this little dude doesn't look sick, he never even asked what was going on, how much he had eaten or drank, and never asked what happen when we were at the Fort Erie Urgent care two days prior, he just told us if you baby isn't wetting his diapers don't you think he should go to the hospital(that's what we thought we were doing)He was eating while standing at the end of the mans bed beside ... read more
Saw him in Fort Erie ER and waited almost 3 hours with little to no people in there at the time for him to come in and say, "it's not broken go home ice and elevate" and he left. No instructions, prescription offered, or chance to ask a question. As I waited my wife went to see what the hold up was and overheard the nurse telling him he needs to go and see me because I was still waiting. He was sitting at the computer checking his hotmail!!
We saw him the the ER. He was less than helpful and did not look my husband over nor ask him some basic questions to understand my husbands condition.
I saw Dr. Luterman at an ER. He listened to my concerns and appeared attentive and caring. Had he been taking on new patients I would have been at his office the next day.
I had this doctor for a short time and then he left St Catharines. Yes, he is different and he walks to the beat of his own drum. However, I found him to be very thorough, very willing to refer if he thought there was the least need and he will provide answers. Sometimes he needs to be brought down a peg or two because he can be abrupt, but I am more than willing to say he can take more than he gives. Only acquainted through ER visits for myself and family. While I will agree that Dr Luterman is arrogant, in my opinion he does not deserve the comments received prior to this. I found him to be very a very matter-of-fact, no BS doctor and I was glad he was there to help when needed.
He was extremely rude to my son and my wife, he is arrogant, he spoke loud about peoples personal business and he has terrible bedside manner.I have had more issues as well with him but they should not be specified online but the issues do contribute to the low rating he deserves.
