Email reply was short, just asking me to come by and no negotiation over email. I fell sidetracked and not welcomed

Dealer responded probably several times encouraging me to come over to the dealership. But I never made it over there as I found another car..
I called Maxxum about a car I wanted to buy, made an agreement over the phone on the price, and told them I was an hour and a half away and would be there at about 2:30pm. The guy on the phone acknowledged it and said they'd be there. Halfway there, I got an email from him saying he just sold it out from under me and not to bother driving all the way up there. I had already made half the trip! Poor business ethics, in my opinion. Makes me wonder what other business practices they have that are equally negligible.

A few things to add:We had spoke on the phone about a car, the price and sales tax amount.You had never been to our store, or test driven the car.Never gave us a deposit, no banking or credit information.Someone else did come in and purchase the vehicle that same day, and we emailed you to tell you this.Since you had not made a deposit, and had never seen or test drove the car, it was for sale to the first buyer who could pay for it.This is a common practice in all industries.If you were selling your ... read more

The car was gone but Ross showed us other cars and made an exception to give a 3 month guarantee on some things. He was informative, patient, kind and professional as was April. I am recommending this dealer to all my friends. We bought a 2005 Toyota Camry that has passed the state emission inspection.
Dealership contacted me next day.
Car had leaking engine. Car overpriced.
