Maxfield's, Inc. is a phenomenal story of country roots, family decisions, generations of hard work, and growing up in the business. Born two years apart, Tony and Shari literally grew up in the family hospitality business of Maxfield's Restaurant. Worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life, not to mention they don’t honor their own discount coupons. Not surprising they’re out of business, the way they treated customers.
I find it odd a restaurant would shut down. Maybe because of the location. But then they should have lowered their prices to stay in business. They were always known as the ritz carlton of the country. My parents would got there years ago in the 1970's and 80's from GR. Maybe it will turn into a Dollar General. .

Sept 2019, very disappointed and we've talked to many others that were too. We made a point to go there to support them before they closed. Our table of 6 were all disappointed with the unfriendly & poor service. I'm glad my father wasn't alive to go with us, he used to love maxfield's in the 70's and 80's. He'd drive from grand Rapids. We praise and reward good service and attitudes. over $150 later, we realized we wasted our money and time.
Excellent Seafood Buffet. Seafood/ Prime Rib, and Salad bar. Restaurant is very clean. Pleasant drive in the country. Worth the drive. Staff was very nice. I would highly recommend.
Sad to see a homestyle resturaunt close, but in speaking with the manager can understand their decision. If you plan on trying out the restaurant you must have a reservation as everyone has been flocking there to get one final taste before they close Sept 29th
Disappointed for the first time ever ... We have driven an hour a couple times every Fall and have loved it ... I understand your closing, but then tell everyone you have 300 reservations on Sat n Sun n 500 on Friday then keep the food up, at least have dinner rolls! Salad bar is literally 25% of what it was, no breads, only a few salad options now, one of smallest salad bars around now ... Not even cottage cheese on it, no rolls or bread for dinner, no pickles or olives or deserts or ice cream ... And Sunday buffet is half ... read more
Awful service. The manager is awful. The food was poor quality and over priced. No wonder why they're closing up.
Good place to eat, good food and a lot of it.
