Great Place for Happy Hour! – Went during happy hour, prices were very reasonable, and portions were generous. Appetizers were 50% off + $1, and drinks were on special as well. Wait staff was very friendly and efficient.
Great Food, Terrible Service – There seems to be a recurring theme here. I took my folks out to Matt's because of its high rating on CitySearch. The food was fantastic. I didnt think it was possible to make a hamburger that tasty. The chowder was excellent as well. The service, however, sucked. I sat around for a good 30 minutes trying to get a refill on my drink. Sugar lover's dream!! – Honestly I don't think I've ever had an entree from Matt's before, but my roommate and I frequent them often for their DESSERTS!! Oh god, that cobbler with ice cream that they've got is fabulous!! And their drinks are pretty good too. But if you do visit them, just be sure to save room for the sweets!!
Best Burger – Ground Chuck burger is excellent. Deserts are excellent - I've never had a bad meal.
Bad Service – Waitstaff very inexperienced...taking away my utensils before I even used them. Food was ok but over priced. If it was a couple $ cheaper, it would be worth it.
Matt's – Great Food, Great Specials and a Great Bar. The Service can be on the slow side in the restaurant. Definately worth the trip, just watch out for the service
Decent food, but watch the service! – We did complain to the owner that the service was bad and he was gracious enough to pick up our tab, promising improvement. The circular bar makes it difficult for waitstaff to see everyone, but it wasn't that busy and the guy was standing there, drinking coffee while we were trying to flag him down!
