Located in the Pike Place Market, this restaurant overlooks Elliott Bay. Freshly renovated, Matt's is now noticeably more roomy. Many who remember this quaint little spot in the market will be pleasantly surprised to see the new, beautiful, spacious alternative. Although the restaurant has structurally undergone major renovations, you can expect the same old welcoming service and classically delicious seafood. The dinner menu changes seasonally, but you will likely find interesting and flavorful seafood dishes like geoduck w... read more

Charming Market ambience and tasty seafood selections make for a fine low-key dining experience at this lilliputian spot. – The Scene This is quintessential Pike Place Market--clean, quaint, stylish and literally overlooking the Market clock and Elliott Bay. Located in the Corner Market building, the restaurant's soaring space holds a handful of tables, with seating for more diners at the counter or the bar. Tables afford a view of the Market, but the counter's birds-eye glance at the chef's antics is an all-right second. Ex... read more
Still my favorite restaurant... – I LOVE this restaurant. I was a true follower of the 'old' Matt's-- loved it's coziness and yummy food-- so I was a little worried about what the 'new' Matt's would be like. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary there a few weeks ago and we both felt it was as good (although somewhat different) as our beloved old restaurant. I had the beet salad, sablefish, and peach bread pudding for dessert-- super yummy! My BF had the house salad, salmon, and some kind of chocolate tart and was VE... read more
How to be Romantic on your Anniversary, in 1 easy step: GO TO MATT'S!!! – I recently took my girlfriend to Matt's for our 1 year anniversary and we had an amazing time. It's interesting to read some of these other reviews because there is no way they are talking about the same restaurant. All I can fathom is that there were some wrinkles to iron out with the grand re-opening and it sure appears that they have done so. We were there a few minutes before our reservation time and were promptly offered a seat at the beautiful ne... read more
Being an old costumer of matt's, we were very excited to get into the new space for dinner. The view had to be one of the best if not the best in Seattle. On our first visit to the newly remodeled space we had some great food and friendly service. But you could tell they still had some new restaurant bumps te get over. They only missed the mark on a few things. Having gone now 3 times since the opening, they are right on with everything they always were. The food seasoned to perfection, staff much nicer(they got rid of a few... read more
New Matt's Not Impressive – Went newly renovated Matt's for the first time. It was beautiful and everything new there. But I noticed 3 problems. Problem No.1 is their price which is much higher than old Matt's. It is no longer a casual dining space, although people working there still wear shortpants and T-shirts --- looked odd. Problem No.2 is their ambience which is rather "Cold". I enjoyed the warm atmosphere before it was renovated, but that is no longer there. Problem No.3 is the foods which are not as good as old Matt'... read more
Deliciously Flawless – From the second you walk in the door, you are captivated by the beautiful views, warm and romantic ambiance, and smiling waitstaff. Go to enjoy a drink at the bar and watch the sun go down or stay longer to have an exquisite meal. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was excellent across the board. As a former New York resident I take the restaurant industry seriously and in all my many dinners at Matt's in the Market, I have yet to find a flaw! Just a perfect place.
rude pretentious – a new foodie from manhattan new york, never had worst experience. a reservation for 7 on aug.7 was lost. there were no apologetic gesture. only gesture was a very dirty look from a fat hostess ( who gorges all their food during her 5 second breaks) and no help from a manager named "tom". 7 hungry guest turned away after a horrible rude experience. 7 people who are very affluent in seattle. an owner of a couple of hip boutiques, fashion designers, interior decorator and an athelete, who live in seattle are ... read more
Rude experience with hostess – My partner and I had decided to celebrate our 2 yr. aniversary at Matt's since our first experience at this establishment was enjoyable.....We arrived 5 minutes prior to our reservation and were told by the hostess that she would get back with us momentarily as she had to evaluate the situation......after waiting 20 minutes, other people with reservations began showing up after us and were seated before us....when I asked when we would expect to be seated, we were told again that she had to eva... read more
Mediocre service, food is too expensive for what it is – It was a Tuesday at 6pm. Upon our arrival, we were told that without a reservation we could only sit at the bar, which was fine When I tried to make small talk with the bartender by asking if it was always this busy, he snobbishly replied with a "(duh) of course it is busy." Although there was only one other party at the place, the hostess was careless enough to forget that we were expecting another friend and gave our seat away to a couple. It was a weird situation tr... read more
