Dr. Roberts is a humble, generous nice man. He listens and is not in a rush. He said I needed surgery so I had it but had more pain than before. He said they over corrected so I needed another surgery. This did not help. He also had my bone so close to my skin I had a lot of pain and tissue growth to protect it, fixed only by custom orthodics for the rest of my life. He said almost all of his patients do well and I was just unlucky. After 9 months in a boot, He scheduled a third surgery but I got sick and couldn't have it. T... read more
Treated x rays and MRIs and not the actual patient. Was not interested in helping.Did not listen and told me to follow up with a different specialty despite the fact I had told him that had been ruled out and confirmed by a second opinion. Said he could not help me. Later found another foot surgeon who was able to diagnose and treat me with a little effort and interest. It didn't take long for him to realize the issue with a physical exam. Dr. Roberts was arrogant and insultingNO DOCTOR HAS EVERY MADE ME FEEL SO SMALL. I wou... read more
So happy that I went to Dr Roberts for a second opinion since he is the Chief at HSS about my bunions and newly discovered arthritis in my foot that had be in great pain for over a week.
He’s an amazing surgeon. Kind, caring and compassionate. He’s great at what he does.
I broke my foot very badly and had the dreaded Lisfranc dislocation (used to sometimes require amputation in the old days) and fracture with multiple bones broken and tendons/ligaments torn up. Thankfully I found THE top foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Roberts right away at the top orthopedics hospital (only go to HSS if you are seriously injured like this if possible). He was able to see me right away and was able to fix my foot with a very complex fusion surgery using just screws that other surgeons would have had to use plates... read more
He has operated on me twice for 2 different issues. Both times I felt very cared for by him & his staff. The second surgery was not a huge success, but he is really working with me to make it better. That is all I can ask for. Also, I traveled from the mid-west because of his sub-speciality so I must think he did a good.
Dr Robert's recommended a certain surgery for my foot that no one else had suggested and I took his advice and I am so pleased with the results. His office staff are incredibley nice and helpful. The surgery was very successful and recovery was an ace. Best medical experience I've had in a long time.
My appointment with this doctor lasted 5 min without any help
Let me begin by saying that HSS is *wonderful*; every single nurse, administrator, orderly, tech, and *other* doctor was a joy to deal with. Just not Dr. Roberts. He was unbelievably dismissive of my severe and enduring post-operative pain — essentially accusing me of being a drug-seeker, despite the fact that I was *not* asking him for opiates. We asked (politely) for imaging, we asked for intervention of *any* kind; what we got was a defensive, hostile, and even somewhat aggressive doc.
