Generally Great BUT Valentine Day Crowd Too Much for them! – Had dinner at Mastros in Costa Mesa tonight for Valentines day. Dinner at Mastros is always great! Tonight however the restaurant seemed like they were going too fast. WRONG TABLE CHOICE When I made the reservation I told them I’d like a seat away from other couples. Great Steaks!! – I had the best time of my life, wonderful food and every one was super nice I highly recommend this place for you and that special someone.

Simply the best – It doesn't get any better than this. Upscale bar scene is cool. Ok they could bag the cheesy disco songs and opt for standards or jazz. But no matter. Count on C note per head with drinks

"Meat" market – First off, this place is in a gorgeous location just across the street from the Pacific Ocean. That is about as good as it gets; when we visited expecting great food and ambiance as well, we were sorely disappointed. The ok food was far outweighed by all the singles looking to find a hook-up for the night. Too crowded, too noisy and not for those NOT on the prowl. Also, the review below mine is by a (new) Mastro's employee...isn't that against CitySearch policy? How unbiased could that review be?

extraordinaire quality and service – been in the restaurant industry 24 years and just got hired at matros ocean club last week!after having dinner there decided to apply and leave my long time current job and join mastros!very impressed and also very exicted to work there!the food is fabulous and yes might be pricy but the steaks and the fish are exeptionally fresh and tasty!worth the visit at least once to judge it by yoursef!

Don't waste your time/money – Sadly, I have to agree with some of the other reviews, this place is grossly overpriced and simply, not good. By the way, I rarely take the time to actually write a review. However, this place was so bad I feel it my moral and civic responsibility to do so. Mastros is the best – After Growing up in Chicago, the steak capitol of the US, eating at Mortons, Wildfire, Gibsons, the Palm, Flemmings, Donovans..and other 5 star places, Mastros is by far the BEST OF ALL... Every once in a while you might have an off night in any restaurant, it's a very difficult business not to have a couple of bad nights, but the quality of the food here is unsurpassed, and If you had a bad experience, call them and tell them, go back and try again... People in the know...know about Mastros...

Great Steak House! – I went to Mastro's Steakhouse to celebrate my husband's birthday. We waited for at least 15-20 mins after we sat down before our server showed up. Our server was very friendly though. He gave us a very detail explanation of the menu. I ordered a bone-in fillet and my husband ordered a prime rib. Both are very good, but the prime rib is fantastic!! It was juicy, tasty and melt in your mouth. Must try. Musics was kinda loud. Will go again!
