icky restaurant but nice bar Marx Cafe suffers from cool-idea-lackluster-execution syndrome. In progressive Mt Pleasant, a cafe named after Karl Marx with progressive political signs in the windows and a dark European atmosphere within should be fabulous. But I've eaten at Marx three times and it's just not a very good restaurant. Apparently socialism encourages surly waitstaff and food that tastes like it just came out of the freezer.
