Dr. Balish performed Lasik surgery on my right eye March 17, 2016. I lost my left eye in a car accident April 20, 1975. Over 49 years ago. I was really tired of having to wear eyeglasses to see. So far, the Lasik surgery has worked wonders. The eye specialist I see every 6 months says I have 2020 vision in my right eye. I have to wear reading glasses, but that's okay. I was left to wait for a full 60 minutes after eye dilation. Worse even that no one stopped in to let me know what was going on. Was I forgotten? Running very behind? It was disconcerting. Worse yet, Dr was annoyed, seemingly unconcerned when I expressed dissatisfaction and also when I had eye health questions. Would not go back
I was referred to Dr. Richard after a trip to the ER involving very painful, gritty eyes. She saw me quickly, asked good questions, and prescribed a course of treatment that has succeeded very well. She is well-informed, patient, and kind.
Go anywhere but to this office. The assistants are okay and the front desk staff is wonderful, but Dr. Richard is possibly the most indifferent, cold doctor I have ever encountered. I was taken aback at her lack of caring and common sense of everyday sensitivity one would expect from doctors today. There are too may doctors in Portland to go back to her.
Oustanding, feel very comfortable with Dr. Balish, would recommend him anytime to my Family and Friends.
Very clear explanations of procedure (cataracts, in my case). Efficient use of consultation time. Friendly. Pleasant sense of humor.
Dr. Balish performed LASIK surgery on both my eyes five weeks ago. I am very pleased with the results! Dr. Balish and his staff are highly professional, client focused and committed to excellent outcomes. His ability to listen,communicate and connect with people is second to none. This is a person I can confidently recommend to anyone.
