When we first met Dr. Sytsma, I really liked him. He seemed to be very knowledgeable, and compassionate. He preformed a total reverse shoulder replacement on my Father, due to a destroyed rotator cuff, and the pain is worse now than before the surgery. At every follow up appointment, doc recommended more PT (even though the PT was making everything worse), until the insurance wouldn’t pay for PT anymore, and now doc will only say that being in excruciating pain 24-7, ten months after surgery, is normal. Dr. Sytsma repaired my shoulder in 2012 (separated clavicle). 12 years later it's still rock solid. I can do pullups, pushups, bench press, shoulder press... No problems at all. I highly recommend him if you need any orthopedic surgery.
