Dr. Patel is great but you can’t get anyone to answer the phone - EVER! They don’t send orders to the hospital for tests and then they don’t answer the phone! Twice this has happened. Takes 20 plus minutes to try and make an appointment IF you can get someone on the phone. If you get the answering service during office hours they just tell you to keep calling. Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service.
I had an appointment on March 9, 2020, first I like to point out I request another place to have my procedure, and after the request was given the nurse gave us this location. No one pointed out to us that anything would be out of network and here I am sitting here with a bill I can't find 3000.00, which we can't pay and my husband is looking at me like I made this happen and I'm telling him I requested the other place and got this place. Today, my mother's appointment was canceled because she had a sore throat and the front desk told her "Do not come here! You have Coronavirus!" They refused to see her and treat her. If they had bothered to look, she was at this exact office 4 months ago with the exact same throat situation. (i.e. not Coronavirus) Ignorant and unprofessional. I would not recommend them.
Be very careful because I went for my 1st colonoscopy screening and because they coded the procedure under 4 different codes, it was considered diagnostic by my insurance company and kicked out leaving me with the bill! I would never recommend Southern gastroenterology and Lawrenceville.
They don’t EVER pick up their phones. You will reach an answering service, make your selection, and it will ring and ring until you end up reaching the voicemail greeting. Then you’ll have to leave a message, and they might call you back promptly—even when you may be having a post-procedure complication.
My mother had an appointment with Kulkarni on Tuesday. He didn’t show much concern for her pain. Of course I rushed my mom to the emergency room on Wednesday with extreme abdominal pain. She has Gallstones. They will try to remove them today or remove the gallbladder all together.
Administration/scheduling needs vast improvements. It's idiotic and ironic sick patient in pain to have to leave his house just to have a face-to-face discussion about a prescription that should have been faxed to the pharmacy of choice not pharmacy nearby... The end result was you still had to fax it to the pharmacy of my choice........ Great medical staff, but the administrative / scheduler needs work! #itpaystolistentothepatient
