My treatment by Dr. Canizares was adequate. I had actually been a patient for several years. The problem came with a change in my insurance coverage. While she is an in-network provider, she used a pathology lab that is out of network for my new insurance and refused to use an in-network lab. I did not find this out till after biopsies had been submitted. When I filed an appeal with my insurance provider, she dismissed me from the practice. Dr. Maria Canizares is a skilled and knowledgeable physician. She discovered a tiny tint on my skin that was basal cell cancer. Prior to it getting worse, I quickly had the cancer removed. I've now planned more frequent check-ups with her.
