Dr. Abreu is brilliant and very caring. While she has a tight schedule, she takes her time and listens and asks questions. Then she develops a plan and explains her reasoning while giving options if possible. She also has great rapport and a sense of humor. There is no one better.
My brother has Crohn’s Disease and recently experienced a flare-up that put him in emerg overnight. He’s had flare-ups before that have resulted in life-saving emergency surgery. This time, he was released with a prescription but he continued to experience unusually severe pain the following evening. Eventually he called Dr. Abreu’s office, where he’s been a patient for 2 years (though he still has not met Dr. Abreu) and spoke to a medical fellow who offered him helpful advice. The next day, my brother received a nasty email... read more
If you are looking to ever actually speak to or see your doctor, DO NOT establish care with Dr. Abreu. She is heavily involved in clinical research and does not have any time for her patients, so you will only be able to speak with or see her Nurse Practitioner which is unacceptable. I am newly pregnant and they STILL couldn’t accommodate to see me for 7 months, which is nearly at my due date, to ensure my Crohn’s disease was properly managed through this critical time for myself and my baby. No patient should ever feel left... read more
I saw Dr. Abreu 5 years ago I was in good health until now. Made an appointment have to wait 6 months April 2022! Then I get a call they have to reschedule to OCTOBER 2022!!! Are you kidding me I need help now not next year!!!
Dr Abreu just performed a colonoscopy procedure on me and I have to say it was a better experience than any colonoscopy I had before. She was very engaging and compassionate. I give her 5 stars.
She was a terrible doctor. Not a good advocate to her patient. She runs an extremely busy schedule. Hard to reach her and too busy to treat and take care of her patient. She did not take an initiative in managing, educating and consulting the best course of action for my brother’s Crohn desease. I lost my brother because of her.
The good: Wonderful doctor, great staff. Clean environment. They give you a lot of time your initial visit and are well versed in Colitis issues. The bad: Getting a hold of them is impossible.
You have to wait to be seen. But she gives you her full attention when she gets to you. Have Crohn’s disease for over 30 years. And I moved to Florida a year ago. Couldn’t find a good doctor who is willing or knowledgeable to help me. I wouldn’t want to see another doctor after meeting with her. Had some problems with the hospital accepting my insurance. But it was all worked out after several months.
Wow. Waited MONTHS to get an appt with this lady, then waited 2 hrs at the appt, only for her to be very impersonal and cold. Very quick appt, hardly even seemed there. Ran like a factory rather than a drs office. So disappointed.
