If you want integrity, which is rare in current times, call Mares.
Called 4 others and left messages. Two didn't call back and two called back 2 or 3 days later. Called Mares and got a real person who was very helpful. Technician Ray showed up in couple hours. Unfortunately, had to wait for new part to be shipped to Mares, but they provided a loaner portable AC that kept us cool until the final repair. Lesson learned - always call Mares first.
Our AC unit pooped out on us yesterday. I called Mares Heating and Air this morning and an owner was at my house within 30 minutes. He had my unit up and running within 30 minutes with a quick fix. He explained everything to me and provided additional suggestions with our unit. Very professional and nice all around. 100% highly recommend!
I accidentally damaged the control lines to my AC unit and called the company who installed it for the repair. About $1,900 later ( replaced wires and did some unit cleaning), the AC would not come on. Keep in mind, the unit worked perfectly before I damaged the wires. I was told I needed a new zoning control board to fix the AC, another $4,200. Thank goodness I called Mares for a 2nd opinion. I had two gas packs replaced at the same time and I usually do my own home repairs so I do have trust issues with letting somebody else work on my house. Brian came out to give me estimate and he was very knowlegeable and he did not try to up sell me. I had three other estimates and they were in the middle for price. I chose them even if the were not the lowest because I felt after taking to Brian that I knew was going to get a quailty job and equipment. he had also install a unit for my daughter and done a fantastic job.the... read more
