Dr Stawiski is Efficient, Friendly and a Very Good Doctor !
Saw Dr. for years, also his PA, for psoriasis. Had bad spot on my head and on my nose. He never tested it, said is was psoriasis and gave me steroid liquid. Didnt work so I brought it up again when I went back, and he said same thing and seemed irritated. Did not seem right so I went to another derm for 2nd opinion. Good thing I did, it is invasive basal cell carcinoma. Have had it removed from head (the area grew to be large and surgery was difficult), most from nose, and am now starting chemotherapy cream for nose. If it d... read more
Saw him 25 years ago when having issues with teenage acne... and recently returned to discuss recent changes related to an autoimmune disease. sat in exam room over 30 minutes. he and assistant entered. and dictated notes into his recorder I started with itching and looked at hairline gave me dx- eczema... started writing script for shampoo and skin cream. I started to show him abnormal patch of skin, and said 'NEXT TIME'. and walked away. next time ... I found a new Dr.
Unfortunately this won't be as in depth as I would like. I was prescribed 3 different steroid creams in varying strengths for uncontrolled eczema. I had been getting worse, and was on a strong steroid prior to my visit. I just want to urge those with a similar problem to please look into Topical Steroid Addiction and Withdrawal. I was prescribed creams for years never knowing that they should really be a short-term treatment. Not just by him, but my GP. I suffered a lot of damage as a result.
Dr Stawiski has been my dermatologist for over 30 years! He is kind and caring and helps me keep my psoriasis under control. I highly recommend Dr Stawiski!!
He ripped my clothes off of me without asking me to remove them. Did not offer me a gown. When the nurse came in and offered me a gown the Doctor got upset with her. He told me I have eczema. Prescribed some medicine. After almost two months, the rash worsened. I went to another dermatologist, she did a skin scraping and found fungus, gave me a prescription, and the rash went away. Dr. Stawiski was incompetent, unpleasant, and very unprofessional.
Some people complain about only seeing Dr. Stawiski for a few minutes during their appointment, however, I believe this practice of his is much better than not seeing your doctor at all. He records each patient's problems and the treatment he prescribes. During my last appointment, I saw him, the PA, the resident, and a nurse. I always feel well taken care of.
Identified my issue accurately and quickly and was able to provide medication that keeps the symptoms under wrap.
Dr Stawiski spent 5 minutes with me. He glanced at my skin and wrote out 2 scripts. He didn't ask me how long I've suffered or about my history of skin problems. He just told me it will never go away. I am devastated. The 1st script did nothing and the 2nd burned my skin until it was raw. My symptoms are twice as bad as before my appt plus now my skin is burned so bad it will take a month to heal. I am embarrassed to go out in public and I am a teacher. I too wish I could 0 stars!
