This is the food my Italian grandmother made for us. My first bite of sausage sent me back in time to Christmas Eve at Nonnie & Grandaddy's house 55 years ago! Sicilian flavors! We got the Italian Sausage and Faccia Di Vecchia. So yummy! We also sampledthe meatballs. Just right taste, size, and texture. The sauce was slightly sweet. Next time I'm going to try the stuffed artichoke. The Mandola family (obvious UH supporters) are genial hosts in this homey spot.
Simple N-th generation Italian fare in the East end. Great for lunch when you may find long (fast moving) lines of people waiting for meatball subs, lasagna, other staples of the Italian kitchen.
I love Mandolas not only because my family owns it but because anything I've Eaten thrre is DELICIOUS
