I have received very thorough and excellent care at Manakai O Malama. I switched to them in 2013, and got the most in-depth work-up over months, to address my anxiety, depression, brain fog, and lack of energy. Dr. Ira Zunin at Manakai O Malama examined the many nutritional supplements I was taking (and still take many), one by one, and recommended against several, and added a couple. While the staff was incredibly friendly and professional, I had to leave because they repeatedly couldn't get my prescriptions right. I've been diabetic for about 17 years now and taking the same medication and dosage for most of that time. There were numerous times when I'd go to the pharmacy to pick up insulin and they wouldn't be able to dispense because the prescription lacked the appropriate information (or once because it was the wrong kind of insulin.) Highly skilled friendly staff led by Ira and Alia two exceptional people with a holistic approach to health.
I like it that it can be a one stop shop (or clinic) for all your conventional and alternative medicine needs. Great atmosphere with great staff. I just feel that the front desk people could be a little more attentive. You know a smile means a lot. But don't get me wrong. It's that they're so busy in the front that it's certainly a challenge to multitask like they do. Other than that, you can go see the doctor and work out, all in the same building.
