I was referred to Dr. Mames at The Retina Center by my Optician who noticed blood in my eye. There was so much blood in my eye I couldn’t see my hands in front of me. The staff was so friendly, welcoming and professional and Dr. Mames was God sent, he was so personable and knowledgeable and guided me every step of the way. After being evaluated it appears that I tore my retina. I have been a patient at the Retina Center and Dr Robert Mames for several years. Dr. Mames and his staff have always been the ultimate professionals in providing for my care. Though strictly professional, the office atmosphere is one of caring and the Doctors and Staff all maintain a healthy sense of humor. I have been a very satisfied patient of Dr. Mames for ten years. I originally saw him for a detached retina which he completely repaired with one surgery so that I have 20/20 vision in that eye. Dr Mames has saved my eyesight not once but twice. As someone who has detached his retina twice (once in each eye). I can only thank God & Dr. Mames hard work for saving my eyesight and there fore my way of life. I was Thirty years old when it first happen due to being hit in the eye with a bungee cord. I highly recommend Dr. Mames, I find him very caring, very thorough. During this Covid19 crises he and his professional staff has made the Patient’s safety their top priority. Dr. Robert Mames and the staff at the Retina Center in Ocala, FL are the epitome of outstanding health care professionals. I was referred to the Retina Center for a problem of blurry vision in one eye. Dr. Mames diagnosed the situation and recommended a treatment without going to surgery, which was a standard option. The laser treatment improved the condition, and now it’s about a year later, and I am seeing better and am very thankful for Dr. Mames and his approach to treating my retina problem.
