MAME AND DEE's... Zero stars! They lied and said they could do what I asked when I called just so they could get me in a chair. They also do not know how to treat soft curly hair! It's like the lady was angry with me or something! I will be going back to straighten this out as I had an event to be at 30 minutes before she was done with my hair! DON'T DO IT LADIES!!! There are plenty of other braiding shops you can try but MAME and DEE's Don't You Do It!

I DO NOT recommend this place for my natural sisters... they braid well but when it comes to dealing with our hair in its natural state they have no patience and will make rude comments in french... bad energy...Remember: Im paying her for a service and I had to comb out my own hair.. while sitting in the chair because she was fighting my hair so aggressively. I got my hair braided (box braids) in July 2014. It took only 4 hours. They braided so tight I was in tears. After they were finished I could not even stand for them to put it up in a pony tail. When I got home my scalp was itching and I could not sleep. The braids were painful and irritating. After washing them a few times, putting conditioner in my hair with the braids, and nights of no sleep, I finally started to get used of the braids. It's now October, I finally took them down. I love this place, few weeks ago I just walk in to ask a question, and I have no plan on getting my hair done, but the ladies were so nice and impressionable that I end coming back to get my hair done, and it was one of the funnest experience I had in a long time. I got a senegalese twist and now everyone at my workplace wants to get it from mame and dee because it was so neat and professionally done. I will definetly go back in the near future. I am glad I found this place

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR BRAIDING. I REPEAT DO NOT GO. My daughter got micro braids done and the braids were so tight that it pulled the skin out with the hair. This is how tight the person there braided my daughters hair. Hopefully, I will be able to get my daughters hair back healthy after the braids are removed. I should have walked out when I heard another child screaming and crying. Go at your own risk.

I had long kinky twist put in on my healthy natural hair. They braided way too tight even after being told resulting in hair loss around my edges. Also Most important don't let them clip the stray hairs along your braids or twist. They said its not your hair their cutting but the weave. I ask how can you be sure. She said they way its twisted your hair is completely protected. Great ratings for this company but I have to disagree. This was my first time having my hair braided/twisted. They gave me the most heavy handed person that they had. She pulled my hair so tightly that after 1 day, I started taking it down. It was so painful. They did honor refunding me 1/2 of my payment. The disappointing part was when I went in to get it braided, I had a ponytail and my hair was very thick. I dont go any place without review it first, and mame and dee has one of the best review and their reputation of how good they are is amazing. I mean they threat u like the prince and princess u deserve. I wish more people could so much like they do

I've been getting my hair braided for many years by many different people; however, after trying Mame & Dee's I will go no where else. As stated, the staff are kind, sweet and quiet. The shop is very clean and organized. I recently got married and yes you guessed it they were my hair stylist. I will be going to get the large twist done which look awesome. The best so far in Houston and I've had my hair done my many in the city.
