I went through the companies website, (August 29, 2020), and followed instructions to discontinue their service. At this point I thought everything was done. Then on September 19, 2020 an automatic payment from my credit card, through PayPal, was charged, $43.78. Contacting PayPal they denied my claim of payment since I had agreed to an automatic yearly payment. I emailed Malwarebytes regarding their service not working on my second computer. i paid for 2 computers. They have not responded back to resolve the issue, but they already got my money for the year so I guess they don't care.
It's not what I think, it;s what I know. There are only two ways of contacting Malwarebytes, The first, (which is seamless), is by subscribing with your credit card number. They will then suck funds out of that account as long as it's a valid account. The only other way to maybe get their attention is to voice your complaint here. In 2019 they sucked two renewals when I only had use for one. My attempt to block the charge failed and I changed my card number so they couldn't do that again in 2020. This company will not refund the $4231 that was on my credit card dated 5/16/20. My laptop doesn't work so I cannot give them my account number (license number). I have left numerous voice mails and nobody calls me back or answers my emails. I would not recommend this software as this company is impossible to work with. ***** W.
They make it impossible to cancel subscription. No customer service phone number, no email to contact etc. They autorenew your subscription.
I didn't realize it, but I have been charged for this service yearly. It must have come as a trial product with my last pc, and I never realized that it would auto renew, because I wouldn't have signed up for yearly premium subscription. That is on myself to have checked, but my main complaint is how difficult it is to cancel my auto renewal and service. I have been a loyal Malwarebytes Premium Subscription customer since 2013. Malwatebytes application on Windows PC has no issues. Malwarebytes Premium running on, and purchased from, Google Play is a rip off. I have my subscription set to auto-renew annually and this last renewal on 2.16.2020 was charged to my account but, Malwarebytes did not mark my account as paid and therefore marked my Android license as Expired. Malwarebytes may be brilliant at protecting, I have no real way of telling other than it says it never finds anything. But as far as customer service goes, they are a nightmare. When I first installed it, years ago, they sent me the key and it went well. When I had to add it on to a new laptop, it was sheer drudgery trying to get through to them and get it done, but eventually there was a voice on the phone. I have been dealing with Malwarebytes for over a month. their supposed tech support by phone or chat are both non-functional. I waited 40 minutes tow times on the phone to be terminated with a message to send an email support ticket. I have been doing that for the last two seeks with only canned answers and no resolution. I think I am one of those with a fraudulent Malware key. I am at my wits end and do not expect any resolution.
