Ate dinner last at Makoto's while in Boone for an App State game. The food was good, but they won't allow any substitutions. All I wanted was a side of sweet carrots instead of the zucchini and onions the hibachi meal came with. Both items were $3.99 as sides, but they wanted me to pay for a side of carrots. I'd like to hear from a manager why a substitution is not allowed when the items are the same exact price. From a customer service standpoint, Makoto's policy is a giant middle finger. Awesome food and experience. You can also quickly charge your Tesla there!
Very slow service. Other tables sat down after us and were receiving service before us. Tip was automatically on bill with no acknowledgement. Food was good but service was not.I will not travel over an hour and a half again.
