Well, the $2 tacos weren't good, my carnitas had 2tps of meat and it was cold. The fish in my fish taco was also cold. My husband's tacos were tasteless. I love the stuffed poblano peppers and have had good food there in the past. Yesterday was disappointing.
What a gem of a restaurant! From the fresh lime margaritas, the excellent food and the quality of service, Maíz has it all. They are our family favorite and when we travel from New Hampshire to the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, we always plan a stop here. Our server, Karen, was especially attentive but the entire staff works together so well that you never feel forgotten. Every dish we have tried has been absolutely delicious. Can't wait until we can return....YUM!!
Simply the best....don't skip the avocado tacos. Best place to eat before whirley ball. Margs are no joke either!

This was my first time visiting maiz after the request of my sister in law wanting some good Mexican food. I admittedly thought of maiz after my daughter told me several times how good the food was I must say I was not disappointed!! The food was AWESOME the drinks are on point!! I'll be back soon another pleased customer.
I love Mexican food. Being Hispanic I've learned how to cook an array of dishes. This meaning I expect the absolute best when eating out. Maiz was suggested by a friend and so I wasn't getting my hopes high, just another Mexican place. Boy was I impressed. The food is the best Mexican food I've ever had!! The variety is awesome and the staff is on point as well! Excellent choice for me being a vegetarian. Maiz just might become a weekly dinner outing! Highly recommended!
