The internet is horrible. It randomly turns off and takes ages to come back on. Also in breakfast there are only 3 options to choose from which I think is stupid. Internet on a plane is way better than internet at this hotel. Not a bad experience but there are many things that this hotel needs to improve on.
There are lots of reasons to like this property. Nice rooms, free hot breakfast, convenience store on site. Very friendly staff. 06/17/2026: Still the best overall Suite value in Orange County. For a few $ more you can have a suite with a full kitchen. Highly recommend!
We stayed for 3 days here but the wifi as they mention "fast and free" is the WORST ever possible. It doesn't work if I move from one end to the other of the room. It also stops randomly and then takes ages to work again. When it works, it's like the speed from 2015. The people at reception just say they can only try to reset it and "nothing else can be done". Overall, MainStay Suites was a decent hotel. The service was excellent, the rooms are good sized and they offer a decent breakfast too. The two drawbacks are that the bed is extremely uncomfortable. We never had a good night’s sleep for the week. The illuminated vanity mirror over the sink is so dim that it’s not practicable for ladies to do their makeup.
