Nice ambience, Good food, Poor service – The service was hurried and impersonal as usual. Just to give you an idea of the level of the service that we received, when I asked the waitress about a particular appetizer, she said "Oh, no one ever orders that." I said, "Okay, but can you tell me what it is in it and how large of a portion it is?" She responded, "No one orders that, you should get something else." Can you believe that? That is not only poor service, but just plain idiocy. We just threw up our hands and said, "Forg... read more

Disappointed too many times in a row! – My family & friends have dined at this restaurant on 4 occasions, the past 2 being most disappointing, actually insulting - Our service was very abrupt, even rude - The staff was unfriendly, most unwelcoming - Our large party tried to make it more festive by attempting to include the waiter in minute of conversation - He told us "I'm too busy to talk" which we accepted since it appeared that he was infact chasing around quite abit - After a confirmed 25 minute wait for our check after ... read more

Pricy, crowded, great food – Don't go here if you want an intimate place to dine. The family style is the best! I frankly am not fond of their lazagne, but every single other dish I've tried have been outsanding.

Excellent Restaurant-Excellent Service! – My fiancee' and I went to Maggiano's the other night for our one year anniversary, while we were there, my fiancee' is allergic to dairy and wanted to order a dish. We advised the server about his condition. Within minutes, a chef came out (this was at 7:30 at night!) and explained to us the details of the dish and that it would be prepared with care. What service! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and the excellent food and service at Maggiano's! Granted it is crowded, but what rest... read more

Worse Dining Experience Ever – The wait was very long. The staff was very unprofessional. I orderd a steak and it came out with mushrooms (I am alergic to mushrooms and the menu didnt indicate the steak was served with mushrooms). After another twenty minutes I received another steak that was burned. The manager said he would take care of our bill but never came back to our table so we ended up paying and leaving. This place is not what it used to be.

amazing for groups! – we hosted a surprise party for 28 people at maggiano's and from the instant that we arrived, I could not have been more impressed. We had two generous tables in the center of the main dining room and the very second we sat down, the waiter came to take our drink orders. the staff was nothing short of impeccable. And, as usual, the food was delicious. I had pre-ordered a family style dinner and the waiters immediately brought the food to the table while managing multiple requests with precision. The cour... read more

housewife – We have been to Maggiano's several times and think it's the best. The last time we brought our relatives from Pgh. there and they were really impressed. One day on the way to see my son in the hospital at Chapel Hill all he wanted to eat was a pizza from Maggiano's. He loved it! I guess I have to admit my other son is a chef there and he is really happy there.

great food – What can I say, never had a bad meal there. Family style is a great deal, especially with kids! Be prepared to wait for a table, tho.

Little Italy it isn't – It's Little Italy for those whose notions of Little Italy come from Godfather movies. However, the food is good, if not terribly authentic. The ambience is, well, Grand Central Station during rush hour. The noise level is high, servers seem rushed, not a place for a relaxing dinner. As for the wait - 3 hours for a table in a chain restaurant in a mall in Durham, NC. The food wasn't THAT good.
