Serving some of the largest portions ever seen on a single plate, this traditional Italian restaurant around the corner from the Park Plaza Hotel is sure to satisfy even the hungriest appetites. Red and white tablecloths contrast with a dark mahogany bar. The menu includes salads, antipasti, homemade pasta and prime rib. Try the spaghetti carbonara, mostaccioli, homemade gnocchi or the chicken giardiniera. For dessert, there is chocolate zuccoto cake, profiteroles and vanilla gelato. The restaurant, which has a full service ... read more

Picture Vinny T's but less quality, atmosphere and service, but for more money. – This place is just plain average as far as the food goes and then factor in crowds so dense you cannot get to the host for questions and I wager a guess that people who love this place don't venture out much. Magianno's is also listed as romantic, sure if you like uproarious crowds and crying children in a Cheesecake Factory packed layout. I ordered chicken parmesan (which was good but not great) and it did not come with pasta, which was extra.... read more
Great Food, Cheap Prices – I have been to Maggiano's a number of times, and have never been disappointed. I most recently went with a party of 8, and although we had reservations, we did wait about a half hour to be seated; but after that, the service was great. The place is huge, one of the few Italian restaurants in the city that can accommodate large groups, and the food is delicious! I definitely recommend the half-portion sizes, as the regular portions are HUGE (the half-portion is large enough for 2 meals for me). The ... read more
Not good for large groups, bad service – I work for a financial corporation, I was in charge of a large party of international investors, I want to keep the evening somewhat casual, and Maggianos was recommended. The service was marginal (servers unaware of wine service , food knowledge etc.), and the food I would rate as fair. We waited for almost and hour to be seated, after booking the reservation well in advance. All in all it was not a pleasant experience.
Just Like Mamma used to Make.... – But my mom was a horrible cook....and not italian. This is such ordinary food, it blows my mind that anyone in good conscience could call it "one of their favorties" or "outstanding." Portions are big but what's the point? Is a lot of slop better than a little slop? Again, it's not horrible...just really average, and not worth the fuss (parking, noise, crowds)
Dining Out in Boston Italian Style – We just went to dinner and found the experience excellent. Our waiter Drew was a pleasure to have waiting on our table. He was very helpful in recommending many of the excellent selections they offer. Our group thought that the service, food and portions were excellent. It is an excellent place to dine in the Boston area. I would recommend this to everyone.
Good Food Fun Place Reasonable$ ATROCIOUS service – Great for easy group gatherings. Portions HUGE, reasonably priced meals. Lg Bar waiting area. Big, lively, open spaces fun...but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. One problem, horrible service. We were running 10 min late for reservation. Called and were told they would hold reservation for 15 min, but could not guarantee a table beyond that time frame. RAN over, arrived 5 min after our reservation, waited 25 min to be seated. Rushed and confusing menu intro. ... read more
Great food, poor service – Had reservation for dinner. Stood in front of the hostess for about 3 minutes where she never picked her head up to acknowledge me until I had to excuse myself. After being seated, the waitress handed us menu's and asked us if we would like to start of with an appetizer or salad. We looked down at the menu to glance quickly as we had not had time to look at the menu only to hear the waitress chime in with a sarcastic "Uuhhh, hellloooo". The food was wonderful, the portions large enough to share. Wo... read more
Wedding fiasco fixed by GREAT team at Maggiano's. – My mother's wedding was to be held in Boston Common at noon. There happened to be a parade that no one knew about that day. After tons of confusion and street closings it was decided last minute to hold the ceremony at Maggiano's. They were completely understanding and accomodating. The service was unparrelled! I would totally recomend this restaurant to anyone as a night out or a great place to hold a function. The food was wonderful and it's beautiful inside.
Some of the best Italian food I have experienced – First off to those who complain about the wait....make reservations in advance. Problem solved. It is a busy restaurant; do not expect to waltz in during peak times with no reservation and get a table. For what its' worth, you can make reservations up to 2 months in advance. The good: gnocchi melts in your mouth, and the lasagna (with meat sauce) is THE BEST I have ever had. Bar none. The prices were very reasonable and the chocolate zuccotto cake, if you have room, is a mus... read more
