Dr Barns was an amazing dr and person. He did my moms surgery and found ovarian cancer. There was a 25 lbs tumor and multiple gallons of fluid he got it all out in about an hour. He had such compassion for our family after surgery telling us what he suspected it was. He also performed my hysterectomy several year earlier and was so compassionate and I felt so safe knowing I had one of the best surgeons in the country. My condolences to his family. I can only imagine the homecoming!

Dr. Barnes performed open surgery including draining a gallon of fluid, removing a 6 lb mass from my ovary, and bi lateral hysterectomy.
I would advise anyone out there to never go to Dr. mack Barnes or to the hospital that he works out of which is St.Vincent West. The staff and nurses are very rude and Dr. Barnes has no empathy for what you are going through. It was the Biggest and worst mistake I have ever made by trusting in Dr. Barnes. he performing a hysterectomy bi lateral and left me in agonizing pain the majority of my hospitals stay at St. Vincent West of Birmingham.
