I love it. Best place on Tybee for a fried seafood platter. We eat there every time we go.

I never write reviews, but am compelled to do so after being treated so rudely Saturday afternoon. Four of us arrived at 4:45. The rest of our party was 5 minutes behind. Although there were empty tables, and no one was waiting, we were told they could not seat us until all of us arrived. Okay, so we would wait. A minute or so later, another person said we'd have to wait outside, even though there was no one else waiting to be seated. Ate there last night. The cole slaw was old and wilted. I ordered fried shrimp and fried scallops. I got seven of each, but the scallop wasn't even a whole round scallop. They cut it in half and serve it as one! A half scallop!!!!! Then they charged $20.25 for it. The batter was wet and fell right off. My daughter had the shrimp scampi. There was NO flavor to it at all. In good scampi you can smell the garlic. I will never go there not recommend it.

Macelwee's was one of the first places we ate on our first trip to Tybee back in 2008, upon returning this year we remembered the great food and couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately our experience was less than desirable. When we asked for a table in the back the hostess rudely said with exasperation "come on". I've eaten here in the past and it was very good. Stopped in tonight and the hostess was very rude. She said it would be a 30 minute wait and there was 6 tables available & clean. We ask to get a drink from the bar and she said it would be a few minutes because she had to clean tables. We won't be back.
