First visit and reviews do not do him justice. He came in smiling and introduced himself. He asked me questions when I interrupted to make a comment he simply said let me get these questions asked and after the exam we will discuss. I believe this is his way of keeping himself on track. His nurse came in for the exam and he touched area of joints to see how tender they were to me. He then answered my questions but actually I did not have any as he had already answered them. Completely no people skills, and lost in his own grandiose world of ego and control. His nurse Judy was domineering too. Insisted all his patients be vaccinated and boostered and wear masks. Spent more time on Covid rules for patients than treating my disease. Now my heart is vaccine damaged and I’m having to see a cardiologist and pay for expensive meds and tests. I walked out of his office in worse shape than I went in. Thinking of suing…

Barrage of questions from Dr Lurie; I was never allowed to explain or discuss anything. He was more interested in my treatment for other medical issues than the issues I was seeing him for (consult). He spoke to me in a very derogatory manner, especially regarding my recent weight gain. I left his office feeling defeated. Several years ago, I saw a rheumatologist in Kingsport. What a different experience! I hope they will now accept my insurance and I can return to them!

His nurse is the most unprofessional, and disrespectful human in the business! I never got to see the Dr. Do to not being informed of initial appt then canceling me, for no reason on the follow up! I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this non functional buisness!

Dr. Lurie was beyond my expectations! He listens! Highly knowledgeable. His nurse and staff are top of the line. I love the fact he does not sugar coat anything! I have the utmost respect and gratitude for all his help.

Dr. Lurie is not a “people person”. He’s rude and does not permit you to speak at all other than to answer his questions. I wasn’t trying to talk about the weather, I was trying to tell him what was hurting and bothering me in order for him to fully diagnose my issues. I never did get to tell him anything at all about my issues. He judged everything he needed to do solely by my medical file from my doctor. I’ve been a patient of Dr Lurie for nearly 20 years and would highly recommend him. His chair side manner is quick and a little stilted but through my own experience as his patient, I can see the reason for it. I trust Dr Lurie completely with my autoimmune conditions, which are extensive. His care and alertness to my complaints and symptoms have resulted in the best health possible to attain. I would not go to another rheumatologist unless absolutely necessary.

Would ask questions and not wait for my response. He was very abrupt to the point of rudeness. Every time I saw him he would change the diagnosis, and after 2 years still haven’t figured out what my health problem is. I’m seeing a different specialist and I would recommend the same to anybody who reads this.
