I've been to Luray Caverns a few times and it is never disappointing. It has gotten a little pricey, but there are discounts to be found if you're a savvy shopper. We saved a few bucks by using our Giant Grocery Market club card. There are many attractions at Luray Caverns, but they all have a separate price and really you go there to see the cave. Fantastic place. Me and my family really enjoyed touring the cavern. I've been to one but this has more extraordinary formations. It's a must see place when you are visiting Western Virginia.
Absolutely breathtaking. The caverns are awesome. Make sure you see the Egg!!!
The caverns and formations are amazing, but the lack of structured tours makes it feel like herding cattle. I did not enjoy the experience due to how crowded it was and the lack of signs/info. The "tour guides" supposedly tell you about the formations, but it was so loud and crowded that on the rare occasion that they did say something you couldn't hear them anyway. I'm sticking to guided tours from now on. :(
