1st time there and I have always heard great things. Doubt I’ll go back! Was told 15 minute wait but it was 45. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks, another 30 for refills. After an hour and 15 minutes we finally asked for our food to go. Waited another 15 minutes. Waiter did not split check as requested. He did however split an appetizer that was requested not be split. We live an hour south of there, so after 3 hours we’re still hungry and I’m left with with expensive, cold food. Food was great. Waitress was really good but seemed to try and over charge a lot. I ordered the pick for for $15.95. When i get the bill i was charged $12.00 extra for ordering beef instead of chicken. This is definitely a rip off. Who in their right mind would order a 2 Beef tacos and 2 enchiladas for $27.95. Really? I almost fell out of my seat when I saw that. Manager couldn't even explain.
While the food was good, my michelada wasn't. Didn't drink half of it. And the waiter brought the bill before anyone asked for it. He made sure we knew that he wanted us out. I tipped him an extra 20 dollars as I walked out; five dollars for every time he gave us the stink eye. Won't be back.
I have never had a bad experience at Lupe. My wife and I eat here often, and love everything about it. Their puffy taco shells are out of this world, and their new breakfast is amazing. I recommend it to everyone.
The food was excellent as always. My husband particularly likes the tamales. He orders these almost every time. I'm very fond of the enchiladas and the crispy tacos. But really, everything is good. We eat there 2 or 3 times a month.
