I recently took a 25' tape measure that I bought at Lowes with a "lifetime hassle free warranty" and was told they wouldn't exchange it without a receipt. I said "who keeps a receipt for a tool purchased 7 years ago over the lunch hour while on the job? And who else sells Kobalt?" She said Home Depot and True Value sell Kobalt tools. I can't find any indication online that that is true. There's a lot of competition in home centers nowadays and I'm sure Menards or Home Depot will more than fulfill my needs from here on out.
We discovered our refrigerator went out at 10:00 PM on Sunday night. After moving everything from our fridge into coolers with 40lbs of ice we got in an emergency run to the gas station, and our freezer items stuffed into the deep freeze, we were a little stressed! Monday morning bright and early we showed up at Lowe’s to pick out a new refrigerator and hoping for a same day delivery! I needed to replace a pipe in a house I just moved into, I was clueless but Dave at Lowe’s went above and beyond and I am more then impressed! He was sooooo helpful and really went out of his way to explain what I needed to do!!
Love the store. I had a unique situation several years ago that required the replacement of the tool I was using. Lowes was the only store that offered to replace it on the spot. NONE of the other home improvement places were willing to help me and insisted the item be sent back to the manufacturer. Lowes earned my business even though they may be a few cents more.
Must need to be a contractor to even get an acknowledgment.
