She had no sensitivity when going through early appointments and every other time said no chemo, then every other said yes chemo. Treated patient as if tears were likened to hysteria or the plague. Wouldn’t listen to patient during treatment when they communicated what they felt was happening with their body. Would not advocate for patient care during emergency. Spoiler: patient had been accurate about their feeling they were having allergic reactions to treatment as was found once reactions had escalated and esophageal stre... read more
Takes her time to explain my issues with the cancer
Told me I had lynch syndrome and that my son would develop colon cancer at a young age. I read the reports and asked for explanation. She told me it wasn’t her job to explain to me. Sent me to a genetic counselor at Vanderbilt who told me I did not have lynch syndrome.
Dr. Garretson is professional, yet she listens and takes time with her patient to explain options and test necessary for care. Although we may disagree. She is polite and allows for our differences. I fell confident in her ability to provide compassionate and appropriate medical procedures and advice.
Dr. Garretson gave us hope when others sent my husband home to die.She always explains the labs, scans, and any concerns we have. Goes over all treatment and is honest with us. When we 1st found out about my husbands cancer it was at stage 4 and given 4-6 months. It has now been 3 yrs. Still stage 4 but we take each day 1 at a time . We appreciate all she has done and her willingness to see my husband from day when Dr. Kleitch called her and got us right in with her. We are truly blessed .
If you are looking for a compassionate, caring doctor in the worst time of you life, RUN from this lady. You are merely a paycheck to her. She cant be bothered to answer questions. She doesn't get in any hurry ever. If you question anything she becomes defensive. She is rude and at times hateful. Please please please get others opinion before you choose this lady as your oncologist. Her staff is kind that is about the only good thing I can say.
Rarely see the doc and when I do she has no time to answer questions and doesn’t bother to so much as look at me. She just reads blood work and sends me to infusion center as fast as she can. After I wait an hour for her.
Excellent, professional care in the office. Only issue is time it takes for lab to get blood results back to office. Has to be a more efficient system. My mother is 86 and a 2+ hour wait for labs is exhausting. Plus means extra time for family to be away from work. Needs improvement.
Bed side manners are awesome. She is very thorough and makes you feel comfortable with her.
