Coming from Iowa there isn’t very many bbq places to eat at. Lonnie’s went above and beyond with their food and service. Lonnie even personally came out and talked to each and every person whether it be child or adult. Home like atmosphere and great cooking made for a wonderful experience!!!
Portions are awsome...Ribs falling off the bone Ill be back. Bonus we have BBQ FOR LUNCH tomorrow
Lonnie Q's is only open from 11-1 M-F for lunch and Friday 5:30-7:30 for dinner. Closed on Saturday and Sunday. He will close early if he runs out of food, and it happens! Large portions offset the prices for BBQ, the boss/owner is serving up the food and checking on the quality. Customers get to put their own sauce on, so if you're picky about the sauces bring your own. The smoked meat is off the charts and doesn't really need any sauce anyway!
I love the bbq here! It's smoked so good you don't need bbq sauce. The potatoes are amazing! I would of ranked 5 star, however the, bbq sauce each time I've gone was very runny and tasted more like worshtashire sauce. I use my own due to that. Outside that it's a hidden gem. Never disappointed.
WOW. No words to describe how good this food is. Thank God I just moved to Topeka so I can experience this delight more often. �

We have used Lonnie Q's a couple times for a catering event for work. Both times the food and service has been excellent! The food is fresh, not reheated or greasy. The cheesy potatoes are phenomenal and the beans are delicious. I would highly recommend Lonnie Q's for your food day or just regular lunch on a typical day. Lon called me later in the day to check on the quality and make sure everything was okay. My only complaint! I felt like a fat tick when I was done eating. �
Loved the food and atmosphere. The ribs sell out quick, so make sure you get there early.
