Normally this is an amazing hospital but their new thing is before you even find out what’s wrong with you they put you in a big room with other patients to free up the private rooms called the results waiting area ( aka get out move somewhere else waiting area ) the old triage area waiting room no one ever comes back to check on you. There doctors say many different things and say each other was wrong. They postponed my surgery 3 times and wanted to operate on my shoulder when it is my knee. How can I complain to the AMA?
My husband had an appointment for ambulatory surgery on Friday January 4 at 3:00pm. We were told to arrive at 10am. Go to nuclear medicine testing at 12:30pm and then the surgery at 3pm. It is now Saturday January 5th 12:25am and we are still here. I’m the only person in the waiting room. They knew this surgery was going to be long and it looks like they left my husband for last. No one is able to say why there was such a delay. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS HOSPITAL! I hope they don’t treat everyone this way!

I am in the Emergency Department of LIJ MEDICAL CENTER waiting for a room since yesterday, it’s now 1:00 pm, I came in around 1:00pm yesterday, been laying in the hallway by the nurses station since around 4:00pm it’s very noisy and there is no privacy my visitor has to seat in the hallway with me. I believe there needs to be a better system in place when patients are being admitted to the hospital after being seen in the ED.
RecommendedEveryone is nice and respectful, you ask to speak to the doctor they call him and he comes and talks to you and doesn’t make you wait and they take very good care of you
they keep patients in a hallway in a row. my husband and I have been in this hallway for 10 hours waiting for a room that they will charge us for that we will only probably be in for an hour or two by the time we get in. they only have horrible hard chairs to sit on so if your spouse wants to be with you it's extremely uncomfortable so then they recommend that you go home and get a good night's sleep and come back refreshed the next day to be with your spouse I don't think so.
