Some parts of the park are nice, but the amount of trash is appalling.

Ms. Bordelon, Thank you for visiting Long Hunter. The trash along the lake is deposited along the shore due to flooding. We frequently entertain volunteer groups to a trash clean up but they are never able to collect it all. Some hikers collect a little at each visit to assist with the clean up. We're sorry you had an unpleasant experience.

Day loop was beautiful! My four boys really enjoyed the areas u could get down to the lake to skip rocks. Trails well maintained and marked.
The 2 miles path around the lake is beautiful, shady about 50% of time and very easy to walk on
It's a beautiful park. Very clean including bathrooms. We enjoyed it all day. Lots of shaded seating and grills. We will be enjoying it all summer
