RecommendedBeen here twice, both times the people working here were so nice.
Took my grand daughter to do some panning for gems and she had a blast. Loads of fun finding all the treasures. Will definitely go back.

My geology vacation was getting interesting after I had gone to the North Carolina Mineral Museum, Linville Caverns, and the museum at Grandfather Mountain, so this place turned out to be a better gift shop for rocks and gems than all of those places combined. I bought just about every inexpensive rock I found interesting, and while they do have very expensive high quality pieces they also have a lot of inexpensive ones.
We stopped in on our way home from Linville Falls. We got a medium bucket, which provided a good hour of entertainment for 4 of us. My son and my niece really enjoyed finding large quartz crystals, pyrite, and many other fun gems. The shop owner is extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit this shop again.
