Been to lidias twice now. Absolutely delicious food and romantic ambiance. The service is a bit slow, but the place was packed so what do you expect.
I have never had an experience dining at an Italian restaurant anywhere nearly as good as my experience at Lidia's in Kansas City adjacent to Union Station yesterday. The restaurant is beautiful, including the artistically conceived grape clusters made of grappe bottles blown into the shape of individual grapes and the creative and beautiful wine rack at one end of the restaurant. THE PLACE to go for Italian. Hands down. Had my 50th birthday party there Saturday. If you leave hungry it's your own fault.
I was there for the first time had the pasta Trio and it was fabulous.
After so many people have talked about lidias and how great it is we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary as a family there last night. We were all highly disappointed. From the moment we walked in it was not well organized. We had a reservation and the host desk was right inside the door. This gave no room for anyone to line up in an organized fashion. Great Place , excellent food, great service. Brunch was very well done from start to finish with good selections.
The food was nothing special the service was painfully slow. It should not take an hour to get pasta from when it is ordered. There are too many options in this part of town to go here again.

We had our our son and bride to be's rehearsal dinner at Lidia's on September9th, 2016. We worked with Mary Anne with preparations and did she ever perform! Every detail was executed beautifully and she was such a pleasure to work with. The evening itself was perfect. The food was delicious and the wait staff was fabulous. They attended to every need and made sure the entire party was comfortable and cared for. The experience was awesome and I recommend this venue to any and all persons! You won't be disappointedly!
