I lived at Shoal Creek, and everyone is right about getting scammed out of your security deposit. Interestingly they give move out instructions and essentially say that you aren’t going to clean it to “their standards” and you might as well let them charge you for it because they probably will anyway. Very true! Even leaving the place cleaner than you got it still warrants them charging a cleaning fee. If I was writing them a review back in 2019 or 2020, my review would be at least three stars, but things have gone downhill there. Rent increased a lot over time given the lack of upgrades to the facilities. They go out of their way to find things wrong to avoid giving tenants their security deposit upon moveout. They have actually charged people money for repairs in addition to not returning their security deposit. My roommate and I lived at Stonecrest since August. The first three days of moving in here were awful. First day: all vents were broken and had to be replaced and there were multiple stains on the carpet and counters had burn marks along with broken outlets. Day 3: kitchen flooded due to a broken ice hose in the freezer and it took a month and lots of back and forth and even a lawsuit threat to have them properly come in and tear up the tiles to let them dry and replace them. My son and daughter n law lived here for 2 years- we scrubbed and cleaned that place until it was immaculate and they did not return a dime of their security deposit- it seriously looked better than the day they moved in- they sent a a long email of what was wrong and it was all BS- we had photos etc- do not rent from them- crooks!!
