I have a RX-1000i TBR, the display has failed after one battery. when I called customer service I was told "it's out of warentiee, but we can offer you 60% off the new model". the new model costs about twice more than I paid for this one. Unacceptable Leupold! if it were $50 or so, I could deal with that. but the cost with the 60% off is still more than the comparable product from your competitors and they have a much better warentiee. A few weeks ago, a buddy & I were on an off-road Overland trip out on Nokai Dome in Utah. My buddy Bill found a pair of older Leupold 10x50 binos under a rock in camp, that were all sandy/gritty, gouged up, and missing the lens caps. He didn’t want them and asked if I did. I said sure...they still worked okay and just needed a good professional cleaning. So, I called the tech reps at Leupold. Poor experience with TBR range finder....never again with Leupold electronics.
