When I first started seeing Dr. Markel I didn't really know where to start. Our first session we just sat there getting to know each other, as she explained what therapy was and why it was important. Over time we grew closer, our sessions more personal - to the point that I didn't hesitate to speak anymore; I just did. Dr. Markel is accommodating, sensitive, and a great therapist. She handled my situation with care, and helped me grow as a person. I would recommend Dr. Markel to anyone.

Dr. Markel is an amazing psychologist that my daughter has been seeing. From the initial meeting Dr. Markel has made my daughter feel comfortable, heard and valued. Dr. Markel is very approachable especially with young people, relatable and amazing at what she does. She has helped our daughter overcome many situations and has given her the tools to deal with life. We are very thankful that we have the pleasure of working with such an amazing psychologist.

Dr. Markel was our third therapist. Too bad she wasn't our first. We are very pleased with her approach and results, and truly wish we would have found her years ago. It would have saved us time, money, and most of all the heartache a parent feels trying to help their beloved teen.

I can't thank Dr. Malak Abu Shakra enough for what she's done for me on my path to healing. She used approaches that were suited to my needs as a patient, and is very attentive and considerate. It's hard to recommend a psychologist as everybody requires something slightly different, but from my experience, I would highly recommend her!
