I highly recommend Dr.Remia based on the excellent results I had after total hip replacement with anterior approach. Prior to surgery I had severe hip discomfort resulting in very painful ambulation. I had to take a leave of absence from work as an RN prior to the surgery. The surgery went great,I was able to be discharged the next day after surgery. After physical therapy with Caleb at Capecod orthopedics. I was able to return to work full time as an RN. I am completely painfree after 1 year
I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with this Doctor and the staff. Dr. Remia was patient friendly. Good bed side manner, professional and explained everything to me. The process was all positive and I HIGHLY recommend this doctors office !!! Thanks !!!
As a nurse, healthcare executive, and patient, I highly recommend Dr. Remia. He's THE physician you want & need for your joint replacement & care. I choose Dr. Remia based on feedback from doctors, nurses, & physical therapists. When I asked who they would see for joint replacement, Dr. Remia was the #1 choice because of his technical expertise & how well & quickly his patients recover. Two new hips, in the hospital for 5 days, home with VNA & PT visits, & back to work in 2 weeks. W-O-W!
I found him very helpful. He took his time to explain to me what was going on. He worked with me to develop a treatment plan I was comfortable with. A very positive experience. Staff was friendly and polite

Total knee replacements. Very satisfied with results. This survey does not include any items concerning technical expertise-- and it should--he is an extremely skilled orthopedic surgeon, the most important qualification.
Dr. Remia performed a Vision Scope on my knee, which resulted in IliaTibia Band Syndrome [tendonitis] which he refused to acknowledge before the arthroscopy that he also performed a week later, as well as, at the 6 week checkup. His PA, Karen made the diagnosis & changed the PT orders, which had been aggravating instead of helping. He might be a good surgeon, but his arrogance caused weeks of unnecessary discomfort. Have since found 3 other people who had similar results from his Vision Scope
Very disappointed. Paid to see a specialist and never saw the Dr. Was informed for this appointment and the next (which I changed) that the Dr was not even scheduled to arrive until later. Became dizzy with medicine prescribed and fell several times in 2 days. Previous experience with Dr. Affonso in this group was excellent and hope to be seen by him in the future. I do not believe that a Dr. or group should be scheduling appt when I have no access to him.
